Who are Warrington Road Runners?

WRR began in 1977 and is a club of over 80 runners with the membership steadily growing over recent years. We have recently been voted as one of the top 20 friendliest running clubs in the country.
Membership consists of both men and women, who meet regularly to run around the footpaths and roads of South Warrington. Summer runs include some scenic runs along canal paths and various woods.  Our runs start from Broomfields Leisure Centre, Appleton, Warrington.  How far you run depends on you, anything from one mile up to nine or ten.  We try to match up "new" runners with "old hands" to introduce you to the routes and to make sure you don't get lost.

When and where we meet

Club nights are Tuesday and Friday when we meet at 7.00pm at Broomfields Leisure Centre, Appleton for a 7.10pm start.  We meet in the car park at the front of the baths.  A group also meet at 7.00pm on Thursday night at Victoria Park running track, for a speed session. Various groups also meet on Sunday mornings for a long slow run. The training link on the menu will provide more details about these sessions.
