Tuesday Summer Run 1
Canal & Keckwick Hill (approx. 10 miles)

- The run now remains on the canal towpath for a number of miles passing in turn; the London Bridge Pub, Walton Gardens, the Walton Arms (Cut off One), underneath the Chester Road (Toast rack) bridge, and the General Store at Moore. (Cut off Two).
- Leave the canal and cross over using the bridge before the Expressway, then follow the obvious path over the fields, eventually coming to the Expressway through some trees.

- Cross Keckwick Lane and follow the footpath into the woods via a style and a short steep rise.
- Follow the path up through and down out of the woods, emerging onto Delph Lane.

- Follow Daresbury Lane to its end opposite the Hatton Arms.
- Turn left onto Warrington Road, then first right into Goose Lane.
- Goose Lane has houses on both sides and eventually runs out at a gate.
- Follow the obvious footpath keeping the large area of trees on your left hand side, the footpath runs through a small thicket of trees and bushes which can drain badly in wet weather.
- Continue along the footpath until it runs out onto an uneven gravel path / roadway, follow this to the right as it passes a farm and then bends left at a cottage, after approx. 150m it comes to an end at the junction of Park Lane and Firs Lane

- At the stile do not go up the steps, but turn left and continue along with the lake on your left. At the end of the path go left again on a very wide path (the railway will now be on your right above you).
- At the end of the path turn right and go under the two railway bridges, almost immediately come off the road to the left onto the obvious footpath which is signposted as the 'Transpennine Trail'. Follow this along with houses on your right until you reach Chester Road via a flight of steps.
